Services

Your document will be reviewed by an experienced editor who will suggest corrections. Traditional editing techniques will be applied via modern technology unless you have specific issues you want reviewed. We will suggest corrections for the basics, such as grammar, spelling, punctuation and word usage, and we will check for storyline consistency when appropriate.

We prefer using the Review tool in Microsoft Word, which is currently the industry standard, but we can work with nearly any format of word processor file.

If you are not familiar with the Review tools in Word, or your favorite word processor does not have that functionality, you can download OpenOffice at OpenOffice.org for free and use their Review tool. It is very easy to learn and even easier to use.

Any change made to any manuscript has the potential to introduce new errors, including disrupted continuity and broken references. Many authors prefer multiple rounds of editing to help prevent these new errors.

No two authors have the same quality of writing and grammar skills, so turnaround times vary a great deal. You are probably working to meet a deadline or anxious to finish your novel after toiling on it for many long months, so your manuscript will be returned to you as quickly as possible. Typically, it takes about a day per 2500 to 4000 words.
